ShowLabs Secures $3.2 million in Series Seed Funding
Led by FirstMile Ventures, funding will drive software platform
development, studio expansion, and team growth.
Denver, CO — June 2023 — ShowLabs, a revolutionary visual commerce solution, today announced it has secured $3.2 million in Series Seed funding led by FirstMile Ventures, with additional participation from seed investors Stout Street Capital. This funding follows a very successful 2021 launch and a 287% YoY growth in 2022 fueled by the acquisition of marquis clients such as The North Face, Outdoor Research, Royal Robbins, Spyder, Obermeyer, Simms Fishing, Topo Designs, 686, and many more. This seed funding will build on that momentum with ShowLabs continuing to invest in its visual content studio and AI-powered software platform.
“ShowLabs is solving an overwhelming challenge that all brands face — we call it the ‘content crisis.’ Brands can’t keep up with the never-ending demand for ecommerce visual content, the volume and speed at which the content must be produced, and how it’s integrated and deployed into all touch points within the digital sales and marketing landscape,” said Danny Effron, CEO and founder of ShowLabs. “We’re building a world-class solution capable of helping brands meet the full spectrum of fast-moving trends both now and in the future. Mixed-reality and the integration of generative AI into visual content is going to lead brands into the future and transform their ecommerce content at scale. Along this journey, it was a priority for us to find the right investment partners that understand our vision. We’re excited to team up with FirstMile Ventures and Stout Street Capital. They immediately recognized the value of our studio solutions and software platform, and how it will revolutionize this industry.”
Brands can’t solve the content crisis by simply working harder. Instead, they need solutions that can help them deliver the content their audiences demand — faster, better, and in a way that captivates and engages their customers. ShowLabs launched in July 2021 to eliminate these problems by building a bleeding-edge content studio that combined robotic photography and video systems, together with workflow automation, and a production process that allows brands to overcome the traditional content production bottlenecks. The studio is now capable of producing photography, 3D, mixed reality, interactive photography, and video. ShowLabs is also building the industry’s first end-to-end platform designed to curate, manage, and deploy assets through the entire go-to-market and commerce lifecycle.
“When Danny and his team walked us through the product and vision, I knew that this team was creating something unique,” said Aaron Stachel, Partner at FirstMile Ventures. “In ecommerce the customer needs to see exactly what they’re buying, and you cannot do that with AI. But once you have the high-quality photos and 3D models, there are endless opportunities to leverage AI to streamline the entire content production and management workflow. The combination of the studio and software will make ShowLabs an indispensable partner to any brand selling online.”
ShowLabs continues to make significant progress in 2023 with team expansion, continued YoY growth, and the allocation of resources dedicated to the development of its visual commerce software platform.
