Lead Ecommerce Stylist – Photo & Video Production

The Role

ShowLabs is looking for a full-time ecommerce stylist to play a leadership role in helping to develop, grow and scale our styling capabilities and styling teams. The ideal candidate has experience working with leading outdoor and fashion brands and has a keen sense for how their products are marketed and sold to retail buyers and consumers. They will be creative and inventive in generating and executing new ideas to help evolve the way our client’s present their products.

Our clients’ sample lines can be anywhere from 200 – 2000 SKU’s for one production and include a range that may include clothing, backpacks, footwear, accessories, hard goods and equipment. Experience with rigging, propping, and filling out products with proper styling tools is necessary. Problem solving skills are very important, as we handle a diverse range of products that require a dynamic solutions-based mindset. 

The Lead Stylist will work closely with creative, client services and production teams to ensure we are meeting client and production requirements. They will manage on-set styling teams to ensure product is moving through the production line at the proper pace, while meeting client-approved art direction and quality standards. The production pace in the studio is quick, efficient, and smooth; to meet client deadlines and demand there will be multiple productions running at the same time. This person will have skills in leadership and communication, and have the capacity to support stylists and assistant stylists on multiple sets at once.

Role Objectives

  • Conduct market research and test new styling techniques and ideas to support the development of client-facing briefs, creative kits and brand guidelines.  
  • Develop and implement styling strategies to achieve both creative goals and daily productivity goals. 
  • Build styling strategies and execution plans to deliver the agreed upon art direction for clients while meeting ShowLab’s productivity and performance targets and goals. 
  • Style different product types ranging from apparel, footwear, accessories, hardware, and hard goods
  • Style different production types (pin board, flat lay, on-model, tabletop, and mannequin
  • Recruit, educate and train stylists for ShowLab’s styling program
  • Communicates processes, standards, and oversee styling teams
  • Manage and support prep stylists to prep and sequence products for productions
  • Develop and implement wardrobe and outfitting strategies to meet client and production requirements. 
  • Prioritize and organize workload to follow production schedule and deliverables

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years working as professional stylist
  • Expertise and knowledge in product styling for apparel, footwear, accessories and         equipment brands 
  • Self-motivated and able to multitask under tight deadlines

Prep Stylist

The Role

Experience with rigging, propping, and filling out the product with the proper styling tools is necessary. Problem solving skills are very important, as we handle a diverse range of products that require a dynamic solutions-based mindset. The Prep Stylist will work closely with the Lead Stylist and Merchandiser Coordinator to ensure the product is moving through the production line at the proper pace while meeting the Creative Style Guide requirements. The production pace in the studio is quick, efficient, and smooth; to meet client deadlines and demand there will be multiple productions running at the same time. Role Objectives

  • Collaborate with Creative Leads and Styling Team to facilitate planning and ensure efficiency in daily shot counts
  • Prepare samples for product photography using in-depth knowledge of fabric care and handling (steaming wardrobe, building out equipment, organizing on-model outfitting, etc.)
  • Maintain and stock styling stations for contractors and freelancers from project to project
  • Maintain brand guidelines with familiarity of brand and styling techniques based on knowledge in the market
  • Stay organized with product status in each stage of production from inventory, steaming, rotation between stations
  • Capable of prioritizing and organizing workload to follow production schedule
  • Prioritize based on capacity, deadlines, and competing priorities

This person will have skills in leadership and be able to train the assistant stylist assisting them in the techniques on the production they are working on to better accomplish the desired end-look of the product being shot in the most time-efficient manner.

Image Retoucher

Denver, CO

The Role

As Image Retoucher, you will work directly with the Post Production Manager and Director of Operations to create and manage KPI-driven post production processes for large volumes of ecommerce product photography and video assets. This will include taking both a hands-on approach and performing photo retouching and video editing in our studio, as well as building highly detailed editing templates and specs for freelancers and outsourced post-production partners. There will be a high level of responsibility to perform quality assurance, asset verification, and approval of content before delivering to clients. This will also include ensuring that file naming and tech specs are exact. Maintaining color calibration on post production monitors and ensuring proper color correction on photo and video is essential. It is important that this person can effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external departments to provide direction, support and maintain hard delivery deadlines and budgets.

Role Objectives

  • Streamline ShowLabs’ post production workflows to align with KPI-driven production process
  • Follow style guides, internal and external client notes and information to develop detailed post-production workflows
  • Conduct photo retouching and editing including wrinkle removal, color changes, mannequin and wire removals, composites, fabric synthesis, framing, and clipping paths.
  • Produce video sequences with color-balanced footage, manipulation of graphics packages and light design
  • Develop detailed editing templates and specs to guide freelancers and 3rd party partners
  • Recruit, train and direct freelancers and 3rd party partners
  • Develop and maintain strict quality control standards

Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in Post Production field
  • Advanced experience as a creative user of Adobe CC, specifically PPRO, AE, PSP
  • Experience with relevant e-commerce photo and video content and best practices including interactive 360 degree and 3D photography
  • Has detail-oriented eye for aesthetics, as well as assure quality to exact detail and delivery spec that follow all style guides
  • Team player who can work independently, yet collaborate and take feedback from other team members
  • Eagerness to learn and thrive in a startup environment
  • Willingness and desire to be in-studio, collaborating and working closely with other team members
  • (Nice to have) Experience in CGI, Virtual Rendering, AR/VR and 3D Modeling
