Ecommerce Post Production Manager

The Role

As Post Production Manager you will lead and manage critical steps in our post production and asset delivery workflows. The role requires a unique combination of focus in people management, technology, workflow efficiency, media production, post-production, and archival/librarian work. The Post Production Manager will oversee ShowLabs’ team of retouchers and network of external retouch partners, playing traffic manager against tight deadlines for thousands of digital assets. You will partner with creative team members, production management, and client services to design and build photography and video edit specs that will support our production strategy and achieve client deliverables at speed and scale. Responsibilities will include managing quality control of retouched files to ensure all edit and creative specs are met.

Your role also includes building and managing a forecast tool that determines the time to allocate for each seasonal client production, including tracking hours of contracted retouchers. We strive for perfection when delivering assets to clients in order to make their lives and jobs easier, so our QC protocol is essential to our business. You will manage the delivery and deployment process, ensuring all assets reach our client’s systems successfully. This role will, at times, be responsible for the actual creation of file variants that our clients require in order to publish directly to their sales and marketing platforms. Last, this role will play an integral part in organizing and archiving assets in our evolving digital asset management ecosystem. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Premiere Pro, is required. It is important that this person is experienced in asset management and has a strong level of organizational skills. 

Role Objectives

  • Drive the progress, growth and maturity of our post production and asset management practices
  • Work to implement new strategies to achieve significant operational efficiencies 
  • Drive the continuous development and improvement of our digital content distribution
  • Track and report on key post production KPIs to ShowLabs’ leadership 
  • Create and manage seasonal client forecasts that outline the timeframes needed for Post Production per project
  • Manage and lead our external and internal retouch partners to ensure that files match our client specs
  • Learn and work within the ShowLabs framework of workflow tools, systems and software
  • Ensure that all files (including all variants) sent to our clients have been QC’d, match the technical specs, match our retouch edit specs, and maintain the proper layer structure on PSD’s
  • Manage assets independently and confidently to ensure correct file naming and specs for our client and our archive
  • Retouch and edit images when necessary using Adobe CS 
  • Manage video editors and conduct basic video editing when necessary to ensure the final videos meet our technical specs
  • Decipher when assets do not meet our quality control standards

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Post Production field
  • Experience working with Ecommerce photography and video with deep understanding of the desired outcome of the aesthetic and end use 
  • High level of organizational skills as well as articulate and concise communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail

Ecommerce Stylist (freelance)

The Role

ShowLabs is looking for seasoned ecommerce stylists. The ideal candidate has experience working with leading outdoor and fashion brands and has a keen sense for how their products are marketed and sold to retail buyers and consumers. They will be creative and inventive in generating and executing new ideas to help evolve the way our client’s showcase their products in digital and virtual environments. 

Our clients’ sample line can be anywhere from 200 – 2000 SKU’s for one production and includes a range from clothing, backpacks, footwear, gloves, and outdoor gear. Experience with rigging, propping, and filling out the product with the proper styling tools is necessary. Problem solving skills are very important, as we handle a diverse range of products that require a dynamic solutions-based mindset. 

The Stylist will work closely with the Creative Team to ensure the product is moving through the production line at the proper pace while meeting the Client-Approved Creative Kit requirements.

The production pace in the studio is quick, efficient, and smooth; to meet client deadlines and demand there will be multiple productions running at the same time. This person will have skills in leadership and be able to train the assistant stylist assisting them in the techniques on the production they are working on to better accomplish the desired end-look of the product being shot in the most time-efficient manner.

Freelance Image Retoucher

The Role

As Image Retoucher, you will work directly with the Post Production Manager to create and manage KPI-driven post production processes for large volumes of ecommerce product photography. This will include taking both a hands-on approach and performing photo retouching in our studio, as well as building highly detailed editing templates and specs for freelancers and outsourced post-production partners.

There will be a high level of responsibility to perform quality control, production specific onboarding for ICs as well as overseeing ICs during production (i.e. answering questions, assigning ICs to specific jobs, etc.). Maintaining a high level of color accuracy and discernment while keeping calibration profiles on the post machines up to date is essential. It is important that this person can effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external departments to provide direction, support and maintain hard delivery deadlines.

Role Objectives

  • Follow style guides, internal and external client notes and information to ensure productions have been retouched to spec
  • Conduct photo retouching including wrinkle removal, color changes, mannequin and wire removals, composites, framing, and clipping paths.
  • Develop detailed editing templates and specs to guide freelancers and 3rd party partners
